The Sitzmark Bar has a perfect view of the hill and is open Friday through Sunday during the ski season. The Sitzmark offers a variety of beverages including a menu of hot drinks and a build your own Bloody Mary bar on Sundays. The Sitzmark also features live music on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Stizmark Deck is a great place to enjoy one of those Bloody Mary's while taking in the winter sun and a great view of the ski hill. Come check out our ice bar and outside grill on Saturdays in the month of March while you enjoy the warmer temps and the best groomed snow in the U.P.
A Brief History of the Sitzmark...
The Ford Motor Company started building troop gliders in Kingsford for the war effort of World War Two in 1945 and a new shelter was constructed from salvaged material from this plant. This original shelter still stands and is called the Sitzmark Bar. The walls and floor were built from the gilder crates and the roof rafters are Sitka Spruce Glider wing parts.
