AT four seasons island resort

Miscauno Island is a hotspot for water sports, and the hotel happily rents out kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats from its front desk. The Menominee River is the ideal place for amateurs and pros alike to test the water, but less active guests will also be happy to learn there are pontoon boat tours. The pontoon boat can also be reserved at the front desk, providing an easygoing tour of the area led by the knowledgeable captain.

During the winter, the area is very popular for snow sports thanks to the Wisconsin weather. There are snowshoes available to rent from the front desk, and visitors with their own skis in the winter are encouraged to try the island’s cross country ski trail. It features breathtaking views of the island, as well as being an enjoyable way to spend time in the relaxing resort.

Of course, in keeping with the resort’s name, there are activities on the island to suit all four seasons of the year. Within the resort there are sand volleyball and double tennis courts for players of team sports, as well as biking, hiking, and island hopping for the adventurous during the warm months. The hotel also boasts an ice skating rink during winter.

Beyond the island itself, Marinette County is one of Wisconsin’s most wondrous locations and full of varied, vibrant waterfalls. These can be seen on a self-guided waterfall and hiking tour in a pleasant afternoon. The large amounts of water also provides ample locations to try out fishing or white water rafting without venturing far from the island retreat.

For the less outdoorsy, there’s also the nearby Island Resort and Casino which offers many different games to try your luck on. Families can spend some time visiting the DeYoung Family Zoo, which combines natural settings and spacious habitats to showcase fascinating animals as well as educate visitors.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to leave the island retreat, there are midnight ghost tours running around the Four Seasons’ own hotel building. Many guests report experiencing the supernatural at the hotel, so perhaps uneasy sleepers should skip this activity.
